4 Simple Spring Upgrades You Can Do Yourself

Spring is upon us which means it’s time to do some cleaning and renovations. Here are 4 easy home upgrades

  1. Do you want to change the look of your kitchen in just 20 minutes? Change out your faucet. As long as you know how to wield a wrench, anyone can easily install a new faucet into their home. You can actually save money by adding an aerator to your new faucet that prevents the drips and drops your last faucet has. To make your kitchen pop even more, consider changing out the hardware. The matching hardware and faucet accents will make your space feel brand new!
  2. If you do not want to change anything, consider power washing your house and shampooing your carpets. The outside of your home is just as important as the inside. Over time, your house is bound to pick up dirt and grime. Rent a power washer and get rid of all the muck! Your roof and siding will shine in the sunlight. The next big cleaning item you should tackle is shampooing your carpets. When you go to rent a power washer, ask for a shampoo cleaning machine as well! It should take less than 20 minutes to do each room. You’ll be surprised how badly your carpets needed it.
  3. Be smart and go smart! Smart home technology is becoming the new norm in houses. Little by little or all at once, you should invest in some smart home tech. Get rid of your keys and get a smart lock. A smart lock allows you to lock and unlock from your phone, plus it comes with a camera so you can always see who is at the door. Some other valuable smart upgrades would be a smart doorbell, smart light bulbs, smart thermostat, etc. Depending on how much you are willing to spend, you can really upgrade your home with these simple gadgets.
  4. Do you want to know what small change will make the biggest difference? Paint your front door. Your front door is the first impression you give off to others. You do not even have to change the color, a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference. But, if you do want to change the color, sage green, gray and red doors are on trend at the moment.

Spring cleaning and renovations do not have to require a contractor! Roll up your sleeves and enjoy a spring Saturday fixing up your home.
